Psychotherapy Services & Project Hope programs are developed and led by Anna Blum, an experienced trauma therapist working in the Charlottesville area with 40 years of experience in Nursing, 34 of them in Psychiatric Nursing.
Anna Blum PMHCNS-BC is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychiatric Nursing. Before her current private practice, Anna had a thriving Integrative Psychotherapy Practice for eight years in Northern Virginia specializing in trauma, and has practiced in Charlottesville Va. for 8 years specializing in trauma. She also served as a head nurse of a psychiatric unit, where she developed and ran multi-level group therapy programs for patients recovering from depression, trauma, and addiction issues. She is drawn to this work out of her strong belief in the human spirit's ability to heal. Anna is trained and working toward certification in EMDR and has earned certification in Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT) an acupressure technique based in mindfulness and positive thought and other mind/body modalities that support clients tapping into their body's natural ability to heal. She is certified as an Imago Couple's Therapist and Regulatory Parenting Instructor. Anna has completed a 3 year training program in Pre and Perinatal Clinical Training with Myrna Martin, which focuses on the important role attachment and connection play in development and in adult resourcing and healing. She is also trained in Level 1 Vagus Nerve Support Work, and is continuing for advanced levels. Anna graduated from Marymount University with a Bachelors in Nursing and the Medical College of Virginia in Nursing with a Masters in Psychiatric Nursing and is licensed to do psychotherapy in the State of Va.
